The races are nearly here and if you’re heading to the track, hopefully you already have your outfit sorted. But with so many things to think about on the day, putting everything together and getting out of the door on time is easier said than done. Here’s a quick checklist to make sure you’re completely organised and arrive in time for the first race!
Transportation. Have you sorted a lift to and from the track? If you’re planning to use public transport, make sure you check the timetables so you don’t miss any of the action.
How are you shoes looking? Give them a final polish so they look sleek and shiny on the day. Is is the races after all!
Slim down your wallet. There’s really no need to carry around all those bulky extra cards and slips of paper on the day, so ditch the unnecessary and only take what you need – money and a few cards.
On the morning of the race, check the weather before you dress to see if the day looks like being a scorcher or a wash out. It’s always good to be prepared, so grab an umbrella or sunnies and hat to suit the daily forecast.
On the day, put some sunscreen on your face – the ladies aren’t the only ones who should be thinking about protecting their skin when outside all day. And turning a shade of red is going to seriously mess with your look.
Groom in advance. Whether it’s having a shave or trimming your beard and sideburns, make sure there’s not a hair out of place.
Be sure to fold your pocket square neatly. Not sure how? Let Myer Ambassador Kris Smith show you how it’s done…
Before you walk out the door, make sure you’ve packed your tickets – you don’t want to be stranded at the turnstiles while your mates head in without you!
