The pinnacle of the Spring Racing season is undoubtedly Emirates Melbourne Cup Day, which has today seen crowds flock to Flemington in their colourful best. The trackside glamour seemed to steal the show once again, with all eyes on some of Australia’s most loved celebrities and sporting personalities, who joined our Myer Ambassadors for a day in the stylish Myer Marquee.
Guests enjoyed panoramic trackside views, delicious canapes and sparkling G.H. Mumm Champagne, not to mention the odd punt on the horses. Vibrant colour filled the marquee with Myer Ambassador Kris Smith leading the charge in a light blue suit by Dom Bagnato while Lauren Phillips stunned the crowd in a vibrant orange dress, a black peplum belt and an black headpiece all by Arthur Galan AG. Laura Dundovic rocked a simple red by johnny dress and Natalie Bikicki headpiece and Kate Peck looked stunning in a green Yeojin Bae dress and Natalie Bikicki millinery.
Today’s Myer Fashions on the Field competition saw the designers take center stage today, with the invitation only competition seeing some of Australia’s best up and coming designers present their very best race appropriate look. With a sea of colour and incredible design, the judges certainly had their work cut out for them and eventually came to deciding on their winner, Anthony Capon, whose amazing black and white check dress with folded shoulder detail wowed the crowd.
With the sun shining and a crowd full of colour, this Melbourne Cup Day has been one of the best yet and we already can’t wait to do it all again On Thursday at Crown Oaks Day!
