It was all about the ladies at Flemington today, and the stylish Myer Marquee was filled with some of Australia’s favourite celebrities and designers dressed in their most glamorous ladylike ensembles for Oaks Day.
Face of Myer Jennifer Hawkins looked absolutely flawless in a pale pink Maticevski dress and Ann Shoebridge millinery, while Myer Ambassador Lauren Phillips opted for a bright floral YB J’AIME dress and hot pink lace Kerrie Stanley headpiece. Kate Peck rocked a coral and black dress by White Suede with a black hat by Ann Shoebridge and Kris Smith looked as suave as ever in a T.M. Lewin three-piece suit.
Guests enjoyed exploring the wonders of the Myer Marquee, including the Myer Perfumerie and ‘Edible Happiness’ – an amazing hidden dessert cupboard full of amazing treats like Nectar and Stone chocolates and Burch & Purchese cakes – and Melbourne DJ and vocalist Magic House kept everyone dancing long into the afternoon with a mix of new favourites and party classics.
It was an exciting day over at the Myer Fashions on the Field Enclosure, with competitors vying for a coveted sash in four categories – Women’s Racewear Oaks Day Daily Final, Women’s Racewear Victoria State Final, the Millinery Award and the Women’s Racewear National Final! Jack and Jill Millinery wowed judges to take home the Millinery Award with their incredible white bird-like creation, while it was Brodie Worrell from Victoria who claimed the Women’s Racewear National Final title in THAT Maticevski dress and custom-made black and white millinery and perfectly balance black accessories. Brodie has won a stack of amazing prizes, including a Myer shopping spree and a beautiful new Lexus! Congratulations Brodie!
