Maticevski MBFWA Runway Report

MBFWA Runway Report: Maticevski

Today at Carriageworks we witnessed something truly spectacular. A show so beautiful that guests walked away speechless.

After playing with bold monochromatic prints and pops of fluorescent colour in his last MBFWA show, Toni Maticevski chose to feature soft pastels and delicate floral prints alongside layered white ensembles and embellished black ones, with each and every outfit demonstrating the designer’s skill and attention to detail.

Textures and volumes continue to play a big role in Maticevski’s designs, with draping and asymmetry featuring more prominently this season. Fabrics were folded and manipulated and funnel-neck tops were used as layering pieces to create stunning silhouettes. One of the highlights of the show was a series of gold pieces, including an incredible floor length gown with an asymmetrical neckline and shoulder detail.

With so many amazing looks, it’s impossible for us to play favourites. Which look do you love most? Tell us in the comments below!
